'Glare - Ignorance'

..yes, i think all drivers in Hyderabad are suffering from GIS (glare-ignorance-syndrome) and I say this with an acute headache, worst ever suffered by me, I must say!

Basic question - why are people driving around with high beam lights on?? Its been a month and  a fortnight since I came to Hyderabad after 2 years of long separation from this Deccan land and since then whenever am on road at night I have been wondering about one thing, why is everybody coming from the opposite have their high beam lights on.Its such a strain to the eye and it just makes driving not-so-enjoyable. The traffic police don't insist on such simple measures. So many accidents can be avoided just by ensuring this simple rule.

Forced to turn on my lights onto to high beam is much more worse! My husband tried driving for a while with normal lights on (I must appreciate his zeal to change the traffic opposite)..he was adamant for some time. 'Actions speak louder than words' was his attitude initially..and who said that's not true..yes it is, but in our case it turned out to be an opposite scenario, we had to turn our lights on so that they their own high beam doesn't blind their own vision!

My husband likes to hit the road, he does not mind if its a long drive back home..he loves to drive me around, and I love to sit like a lazy girl and just keep gazing out of the window. But from the time we came here, all I have been doing is cursing the traffic, applying the imaginary breaks on my side or trying to understand the traffic knowledge people here possess. If high beam is bothering me so much you can very well imagine how the traffic must be bothering me.People have become more unruly compared to how they were couple of years back.Patience has diminished to...well its NIL! If I start talking about traffic in detail, then may be its better I start a series or a blog dedicated to 'traffic stories' and probably name it Senseless+Traffic)^Infinity = HELPLESS (Too much of studying - forgive my equation! ) . Believe me or not, I din't yet feel every inch of my sweet Secunderabad/Hyderabad lanes and I totally blame these high beam users for it!!

Anyway, whoever will (ever) read this blog, if you have the habit of using high beam stop it, by God's Hyderabadis grace every road is very well illuminated by shops all around (actually even street lights are functioning well in many areas) and with traffic moving inch by inch all of us can see the road ahead of us.So, we don't have to use heavy lights and literally blind the person coming on the opposite lane.

STOP USING HIGH BEAM - USE IT ONLY WHEN NECESSARY - AVOID ACCIDENTS. I wish I can make these banners and hang them everywhere..wait a sec - who has the time and patience to glance at them?!

I sign off with a hope as always that Deccan traffic will become better.
